How to Connect FluentCRM to ClickMinded Newsletter Generator

Use this guide to create WordPress credentials, connect FluentCRM, and export newsletter drafts from ClickMinded.

Use this guide to create WordPress credentials for FluentCRM, connect FluentCRM to ClickMinded Newsletter Generator, and export newsletter drafts to your WordPress site.

What this integration does

The FluentCRM integration lets ClickMinded Newsletter Generator:

  • connect to your WordPress site with a WordPress username and application password
  • load FluentCRM lists and tags for newsletter delivery settings
  • export generated newsletters as FluentCRM campaign drafts
  • sync campaign performance after you send from FluentCRM

ClickMinded does not send the email for you. It creates or updates a FluentCRM campaign draft, and you send or schedule the campaign from inside FluentCRM.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • access to the WordPress admin area for the site where FluentCRM is installed
  • a WordPress user that can access FluentCRM
  • the site URL, such as https://example.com
  • access to ClickMinded Newsletter Generator settings

For the simplest test, you can use your WordPress administrator account. For day-to-day use, create a dedicated WordPress user with the lowest permissions your site supports for managing FluentCRM.

Step 1: Create a WordPress application password

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to Users > Profile for your own user, or Users > All Users and open the user you want to connect.
  3. Scroll to Application Passwords.
  4. Enter a name such as ClickMinded Newsletter Generator.
  5. Click Add New Application Password.
  6. Copy the generated application password before leaving the page.

WordPress shows application passwords in grouped chunks for readability. You can paste the password into ClickMinded with or without the spaces.

Step 2: Find the WordPress username

Use the WordPress login username for the same user that created the application password.

This may be different from the display name shown in the WordPress admin bar. If you are unsure, open the user profile and check the account’s username field.

Step 3: Connect FluentCRM in ClickMinded

  1. Open ClickMinded Newsletter Generator.
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  3. Find FluentCRM.
  4. Enter an optional account label, such as Main WordPress site.
  5. Enter your WordPress site URL, such as https://example.com.
  6. Enter the WordPress username.
  7. Enter the WordPress application password.
  8. Click Connect FluentCRM.

ClickMinded validates the credentials before saving the connection. If validation succeeds, the connection appears in your FluentCRM integration card.

Step 4: Choose a FluentCRM list or tag for a newsletter

  1. Open the newsletter you want to configure.
  2. Click Edit Newsletter.
  3. Open the Delivery tab.
  4. In the FluentCRM section, choose the connected WordPress site.
  5. Choose whether to export to one list or one tag.
  6. Select the list or tag.
  7. Click Save.

After this, the newsletter’s export menu can create or update a FluentCRM campaign draft.

What happens after export

After you export to FluentCRM:

  • ClickMinded creates or updates a FluentCRM campaign draft
  • the campaign content is copied into FluentCRM
  • the selected list or tag is assigned as the draft recipient target
  • the sender identity remains controlled by FluentCRM
  • performance can sync back to ClickMinded after the campaign is sent

Troubleshooting

Application Passwords are missing in WordPress

Application Passwords are a WordPress core feature, but some hosts or security plugins can disable them.

Check with your site administrator or hosting provider if the Application Passwords section does not appear on the user profile page.

ClickMinded says the credentials are invalid

Check that:

  • the site URL is the public WordPress site URL
  • the username is the WordPress login username, not only the display name
  • the application password belongs to that same user
  • FluentCRM is installed and active on the site
  • the user can access FluentCRM in WordPress

You can also generate a new application password and try again.

The list or tag selector is empty

Make sure the connected WordPress site has FluentCRM lists or tags created. Then return to the newsletter’s Delivery tab and select the FluentCRM connection again.

The site URL is rejected

Use the public HTTPS URL for the WordPress site. ClickMinded blocks local, private-network, and redirected API targets for security.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need FluentCRM Pro?

No. The preferred connection method uses WordPress Application Passwords, not FluentCRM’s Pro-only CRM Managers screen.

Should I use a WordPress administrator account?

An administrator account is fine for a quick test. For regular use, create a dedicated WordPress user with the lowest permissions your site supports for managing FluentCRM.

Does ClickMinded store my password?

ClickMinded stores the WordPress username and application password in an encrypted credential bundle so it can export drafts and load FluentCRM destinations.

Can ClickMinded send the FluentCRM campaign?

No. ClickMinded exports a campaign draft. You review, send, or schedule the email inside FluentCRM.
